A Giant on the Bridge
Every year in Scotland, thousands of people return home from prison to an uncertain future. A Giant on the Bridge reveals the intimate human experiences within this prison-homecoming journey in a compelling narrative-gig which fuses acoustic songwriting, Scottish hip hop & original storytelling.
In this spellbinding performance, five of Scotland’s leading musicians explore identity, family, community, restoration, injustice — and the pulsing heartbeat within these hidden stories.
A Giant on the Bridge was devised by musician Jo Mango and award-winning theatre-maker Liam Hurley, and it was researched by Phil Crockett Thomas. Originally developed through work with the Distant Voices Community.
Co-created and performed by: Louis Abbott, Louis McCraw, Kim Grant, Jo Mango & Solareye
