The Bridge / Scottish Ensemble: Anno
Performances at 6pm to 7pm (book online here>)
and 8pm to 9pm (book online here>)
new meets old
visual and aural immersion
cocooned in music
Anno is a powerful immersive experience that puts Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons into a vibrant new context.
Entertaining, surprising and fresh, Anno brings together strings and electronics, intertwining sections from The Four Seasons with compositions from Anna Meredith, in a lingering experience that evokes the passing of the year.
Audience and performers are sat at close quarters, with the Scottish Ensemble silhouetted against giant screens pulsating with the quirky visual art of Eleanor Meredith, inspired by walks around the East End of London.
Combining old and new, acoustic and electronic, 'popular' and classical, Anno ultimately defies and questions our need for any such categorisation.
Concert lasts 60 minutes with no interval.
Part of The Bridge Festival, a new collaboration between Scottish Ensemble (UK), Ensemble Resonanz (Germany), Trondheim Soloists (Norway) and PLMF Music Trust (Estonia).
