WORLD PREMIERE| TRAMWAY ASSOCIATE ARTIST
It’s a place we all know, but we have never been… A forest, a desert of ice. The land of ancient gods, wild animals and strange creatures. The home of the Terrible and the Sublime…
After their highly acclaimed debut Plan B for Utopia, Joan Clevillé Dance are back with The North, the bleak yet whimsical story of a young man’s journey in search for meaning in an unpredictable environment. A place with its own sense of time and space, where being lost is the norm, and letting go the only way to survive…
Blending elements from dance, physical theatre and puppetry, the new work from Joan Clevillé (Tramway’s 2017 Associate Artist) will feature dancers Solène Weinachter (Lost Dog, Gecko, Scottish Dance Theatre), John Kendall (balletLORENT), and Eve Ganneau (Andersson Dance, Scottish Dance Theatre).
Joan Clevillé Dance is an independent dance company based in the city of Dundee, Scotland. The company’s debut piece, Plan B for Utopia found critical and popular acclaim across the UK and international festivals and showcases, including British Dance Edition and internationale tanzmesse.
