Jo Hauge: Untitled (On Ice)

This residency will support the development of Jo Hauge's Untitled (On Ice):

'Untitled (On Ice) is part of a series of performances taking place within a (fan)fictional,trans, neurodivergent alternate universe version of figure skating that embraces and makes strange known tropes and elements: the same music performed to over and over by different skaters, illusion mesh and swarovski crystals, the complex rules and highly gendered gestures.

For this residency, Jo and sound designer Nicol Parkinson will
experiment with how the work will be presented. They will focus on text and experimentation with the sound of a mic-ed up synthetic ice rink.

Previous residency 1 to 5 May 2024:

"I am currently developing a live art performance with the working title Untitled (On Ice), situated in a (fan)fictional, trans, neurodivergent alternate universe version of figure skating, performed in the round on a patch of synthetic ice.

For my Tramway Supports residency I am really excited to be working with Mamoru Iriguchi! We will be experimenting with the existing material of the show, as well as with performing in the round, and thinking about how we can create structures and threads through the work that don't rely on established ways of making sense but instead tease out its strange and clumsy logics."
